Now, have you been to one? Not quite NFL, but there’s a nice crowd. On the other hand, I’ve been to games in Germany, and those crowds are a wonder to behold.
Edcole you need to go to a game in Toronto or Seattle (to name a couple). Venues are sold out and exuberant. The atmosphere is tremendous. I’ve seen Toronto FC twice (because tickets are that difficult to get) and had a blast both times. Seattle is reputed to be even better, and has a larger capacity. Other teams often draw into the 10 to 15 thousand range, so there is a definite fan base in a lot of areas.
