    You don’t have to REMOVE them… that is too conspicuous! You simply turn down the volume control on them to zero!

    My ex always accused me of being deaf….I kept telling her to get my attention before she started talking. One night, she had a friend over…they were in the front of the house while I was in the back….she make the comment that I was deaf….from the back of the house I said “I am not”!!!!! Her friend got a good laugh and the ex was slightly embarrassed…but she still kept talking w/o getting my attention first!!!

    What worked even better, at least for my dad, was to keep the hearing aids in (his completely plugged his ears) and turn them off, so no sound at all could get in his ears…

    I don’t need hearing aids; but my wife still says I have selective hearing!.Let’s see… going on 44 years married now, it appears to be working just fine!

    Married 46 years and wear two hearing aids (one in each ear in case you’re curious). I take them out as soon as I get home.
