Had a ’69 Nova, next to last new vehicle I ever purchased. The last was a ’78 Chevy Van. Both are long gone to the scrap heap ! ! ! ! Neither one made 100,000. Current vehicle was made in 2000—it has almost 210,000 ! ! ! !
Behind an older man in the insurance office. He’d bought a car, new, decades ago. Always insured it with this same office. When he left the office he was very dejected. I asked why. The insurance man said that unfortunately the car he’d bought, first owner (him) had, in the past year, been declared a ‘classic’ car, and his was in top condition. His insurance had skyrocketed. Poor man! That was back in the 80s. I hope he got it worked out.
I remember when 99% of cars on the road were dark blue, black, gray or tan. I think they came with pre-oxidized paint. Then when the mid-fifties hit, all of a sudden it looked like Easter eggs being driven down the street!
Twenty years ago, I owned three 1971 VW buses. About ten years ago, I downsized to two. I sold one of them 4 years ago (it was restored) and now only have one. Hard to maintain a fleet once you retire.

My 93 van has 167,000 miles on it, but my 47 Plymouth only has 97,000. I never changed the plugs on the van.

@Sangelia .Humpty Dumpty was the name given to a cannon mounted on the top of a church tower (at least this was what I was taught in school).

I wish! I prefer older cars to what is produced now.

At least you could actually work on the older cars without a degree in computers.
