@Old Timer, I know you’re on here a lot. I’m trying to find an old Sunday Tank strip in which a batter does cartwheels around the bases after hitting a home run, and the next batter comes to the plate dressed like a hockey goalie. By any chance, do you know the date of the strip or happen to have it?
The last word/punchline in this strip sums up every major pro sport, team or individual. The hockey season is virtually meaningless because it eliminates almost no one. NHL and NBA – the so-called “winter sports” – finals last into June, the WS almost into November. Baseball games get snowed out in April and will in October too if the Rockies make it back to late post-season play. The NFL wants to lengthen its season and ensure that ALL the players suffer from chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Tennis and golf run essentially year round, allowing no time for injuries to heal or a mental health break for the players. ENOUGH.

I agree, the MLB season IS too long as is the NFL and NBA seasons.

Baseball might as well try including almost everyone in the playoffs. The NHL does and they still get fans watching the regular season.

I read this as wild cardgame…grin. I don’’t speak sports" so it made more sense to me given the drunken antics of pro players and fans.
