Heart of the City by Steenz for October 23, 2014
Transcript:
It was Halloween 1977 and there was this one boxed costume that Lori just had to have... Well, I was still struggling with my demons and was having a hard time holding a job, so I sure didn't have extra money for some fancy Halloween costume.... Man:...but I hated to see Lori dissapointed! She was my world! Little did I know how my world was bout to change....

To reword Darth Vader a little: hmmmm, the suspense is strong with this “Heart of City” storyline.

bawana: if you weren’t there, you really shouldn’t criticize. The horrors of warfare live deep in those that have been there. Getting my father to talk about his WWII experiences was like pulling teeth; he simply wouldn’t talk about it. Back to the strip, I’m guessing, but why do I have a feeling he may have pulled the “five finger discount” (or worse) for that costume and paid dearly for it?

Too bad we don’t have the draft any more. I’d love to see jerks like you find out first hand what the “whining” is all about.

I lost my younger brother in Vietnam SO you all should get over it! “CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?” OH and I was classified 4F in the draft because I have fingers and toes missing!

That’s too bad. Maybe they should learn a little empathy. I think they will, eventually.

Observer Fo (?) Irony has a right to his opinion, even if we disagree with it. We don’t have to act like this if we disagree.
On the other hand, Observer also needs to roll with the arc. There is a good reason why this is developing like this, and frankly I am enjoying this right now.

I’d finally got what I wanted, but it was more than I bargained for…
They say “you reap what you sow”, and I found out how true that was…
Things were one way, then they were another way…
Statement of good conditions, foreshadowing bad conditions…
