Lawyers do use the word “justice,” but not to judges who would have to look that word up.
Let’s hope the lawyers bring in Fearless Fosdick…or better yet, Travis McGee.
As a lawyer, I say I have to look at the will. The phrasing is important. Was it absolutely essential for the aunties to rope in “Theresa” or simply a courtesy? Did they have to make an effort, or did they actually have to get her physically to the hospital.
Oh yeah, is there an estate?
Maybe the con gene in the family runs two ways. Granddad may have had nothing left after running months on life support.
“Heck, let the old gals have the money. It’ll just go the the State and they have plenty of money.”
Not necessarily. It depends on the terms of the will. If the terms of the will has secondary heirs - for example if it reads something like “in the event that my heir predeceases me or is otherwise unable to collect their inheritance, my estate shall go to….” I’m no lawyer, but perpetrating a fraud against the estate would probably disqualify the fraudsters.
And of course they have no way of knowing what’s in the will. The will could read, “To my grasping conniving nieces, I leave the sum of one penny for both. They have to decide how to split it.”

The old coot’s estate will pay them – he was undoubtedly loaded; why else would we be in this plot?
