After both of us having gotten the flu, walking pneumonia for myself (those dang kids) She is well enough to go see the doctor today.Last year I was dealing with elementary kids, and despite the risks from handling money and proximity to them I didn’t get sick. This year I’m dealing with High school students and I got sick pretty fast. What changed? I have a theory that height is a factor, the kids from last year barely broke 3 feet so when there was a cough or errant sneeze it went right past me at waist level. This year most of them are over 5 feet so I’m right in the line of fire despite the marginally better washing habits of the older kids. I wonder how many times I’ll be getting sick this year. Please wish us luck today.
Brad IS a cowboy and that IS my hair. Even tho we have just 3 cats now, we refer to the last one as any foster we have at the moment. Right now it’s Roxie.
Dream4U: Brad was in the Navy for 25 years and I think he was sick just once. After we came here and he started working at the high school, he gets all those icky germies from the students, the staff (who have little kids) and so forth. I think schools are some of the germiest places ever. A friend who teaches 3rd grade it sick a lot. It comes with the territory.
Queen:I like yours, the one I didn’t like was a family of skulls, Daddy, Mommy and little boy. Then the “Mommy” got out of the car covered in tattoos! Then I got it!
QoA – Those are cute. My wife an I are hoping to find a “dad”, a “mom”, and cats in bulk (2 dozen or so) with halos. So far, we’ve taken in 20 cats, 15 of whom have traveled over the Rainbow Bridge. That 15 will get halos, and we’ll save the halos for the others we have – and keep the rest for the future.
I found out today that I was instrumental in getting a special needs cat adopted. I told one of the baristas in the coffee shop I stop at from time to time about the cat, and the barista went down the same day and claimed her.
@ A_Dream4uWill keep both of you on my prayer list. @ everyoneI have a white cat with grey spots coming to my back porch café now along with the tabby. Unfortunately a raccoon has also found the cat food and comes and pushes the cats out of the way and eats all the food. Any ideas how I can get rid of him? I try putting the food out later, but he came as late as 8:30 am. He doesn’t scare easily and I pick up the food and water every night at dusk. I don’t want to hurt him and if I set a trap, I’ll probably catch one of the cats. Thanks for any help. Hugs, Rose
I also have raccoons so I have to feed the cats during the day with no food out at night. If you can’t do an enclosure then training the cats to eat during the day is your best option.
Thanks, Dry, Gweedo, Rikkie, and whisplicka, for all the good advice. Will try the trap with marshmallows and call the county to see what can be done with the fat rascal. >^..^<

Good way too darn early morning. Roxie is annoying the other cats and me. I’m hoping she runs out of kitten energy soon.

I know Grumpy Cat does not like stick figure families on cars. Do you think he would like mine?

1Mathat: A friend sent my decals as a birthday gift last year. We had 4 cats then. When we lost Morgan in March, I tried to find a halo but couldn’t.

Oh gee, Rose that is a tough one. Did you try looking on the Internet, a GOOD reputable sight, for assistance?
Do you have a small enclosed area that the cats could come into but not the raccoon?
Do you know anyone personally in the State Game Commission in your area that could offer some advice?
Or put our more food bowls and spread them further apart so all could eat?
