“I think Dems are being silly to run away from the President. Yes, his ratings are low but Congress’ ratings are even lower.”.Congress ratings have ALWAYS been lower than the POTUS. .The Dems running away from the president has little or nothing to do with his approval ratings and everything to do with the economy. The 99% continue to struggle despite the relatively healthy stock market, because the workforce participation rate continues to go down. It continues to be very difficult for people to find work and well paying jobs are even more scarce. The hard core Democrats blame Republicans because that’s what they are conditioned to do, but the majority of the country are not hard core Democrats and they are putting the blame at the top, just like stockholders would.
No. Once you decide to run for public office everything is open. It is interesting that Dems lied about G.W.B.’s military service but now you want everything to be secret.
Tax Man: Like Reagan spending WW-II at Fort Roach (didn’t even do a war bond tour – Carole Lombard got killed coming back from one), Shrub spent the war in a safe National Guard unit. Now where is the Democratic lie? (And I am not a Democrat.)
I like the secret ballot system (which differentiates me from Unions and their supporters in the Democratic party), but when someone is running for office it is reasonable to want to know what other politicians they have supported. It is therefore a little strange for a candidate for the US Senate to be unwilling to say whether she had supported a President whose policy goals she would be considering if elected in office.
Hippogriff: Glenn Miller was also kille while on a tour to entertain the troops. In Viet Nam, Martha Raye was fantastic! Coming out to our little LZs to entertain us, and show someone really truly cared about us, she took risks. It wasn’t quite like “W” running off to Alabama, refusing to return to Texas, and later getting a “pass” through his daddy’s connections, for deserting the National Guard. The documentation was thick as flies, only two of dozens CBS had did prove to be “questionable” on the production of them, but NOT on the facts discused.
Her point about secret ballots, as a Secretary of State for the state IS relevant btw, but how many Republican candidates are lined up to secure "W"’s endorsement? Yet even Cheney can get called on by the TEAbaggers!
McConnell should leave Congress and go to work for Murray Energy, in one of their mines, not on their board.
Pauleytee: The term originated by that great journalist, Molly Ivins. Considering the pejorative variations on the current President’s name, for which you never object, I wonder your slant. I claim the right to criticize all parties, including my own, which may not be mentioned in the corporate media, lest people decide it meets their needs – Greens. In free countries, it has supplied a prime minister in Latvia, a foreign minister in Germany, environment and consumer portfolios in France and Germany, and the official opposition in the European Parliament, but you are not to hear about grassroots democracy, economic justice, environmental responsibility, and nonviolent change that defines Greens in over 80 nations.

It’s no one’s business who one votes for. The point they are getting at is, “Do you support 0Bama’s failed policies”?
