Our kids always placed their orders in August, when the Sears Xmas catalog came. Then they changed their minds a bunch of times after “Santa” bought the stuff!
To do this day I dont know how my parents did it. Raising 6 kids (ages varried. Oldest was 10 years older then youngest), living in a huge house in ny, where heat came from oil, feeding us, etc. But every year christmas was special. For the most part got everything we wanted (they never spoiled us too much…maybe a big gift every few years or so).
It is sweet- Lizzie is thinking well! And how DO you explain that? We have these moments, too. I subbed in 4th grade last week, and there is a huge debate going on among the 9 year olds about Santa. So sweet!

He’s smiling at his daughter’s innocent comment. Makes for a very nice cartoon….

This places Elle on the horns of a dilemma doesn’t it? How does she explain this without giving away the secret that SHE is Santa Claus? ;-D

It was explained to me early on that Santa sends a bill to the house after Christmas. I did the same with my kids.

It’s Christmas. Everyone spends too much money on the people they love, and few complain.

I explained to my 9 year old daughter that kids only get 1 gift from Santa because he has to give a gift to all the children of the world.
