We have only cats. I sure could use a dog to help “clean” the floor once in awhile.

You mean your cats don’t do the job? Mine will jog my hand to convince me to drop stuff if I let myself get in range.

Yeah, my cats will sniff at dropped bits then look at me like “You guys eat this stuff?” before walking away in a snit. Used to have a Pekingese (over the bridge at the age of 12) and she was the best floor snurfler, only problem was turning around and tripping over a barely ankle height dog. So she was finally banished from the kitchen when there were people in it.

I’m curing Italian black wrinkly bitter Olives as we speak…. Drop them on the ground and Rosco would run away…

All depends on what you put in your food.Don’t put anything in that’s harmful to pets if you’re going to give them some, and serve yourself on the side.

My wife made me a meatloaf and I didn’t like. I put it on the floor for the dog. The dog sniffed it and walked away.

Nobody should use humans for food — too much fat.

Not necessarily true. Back in the late 1940s we had a dog that only got table scraps. In its life time and only visited a vet twice (once to be neutered) and had 2 baths (both from flea infestations). But she did die at a young age — she only lived to age 22.
