My wife went to the ER with a blocked colon and all she got was a bruised upper arm(all the way around) from the automatic blood pressure cuff, oh, yeah, a $1800 bill for the said ER for a 4-hour stay.
I went to the hospital for a sore wrist (just moved and didn’t have a doctor yet) and paid $120 for a brace that I later saw in a drug store for $15, same exact brace. Ever wonder why our health care is so expensive.
Nice try but no. Our healthcare providers has been doing this to us for many, many, and I do mean many years. Go back at least four or five Presidential administrations. They were all trying to get a heatthcare law through Congress specifcally to help combat such price gouging. You finally get one passed that isn’t great but much better that was before, but instead of trying to improve on what you already have, you bitch and complain and want to scrap the whole thing. And the so-called providers keep smiling as they keep collecting those outrageous fees.
High costs at hospitals were a hard reality decades before the ACA, or the so-called Obamacare. The ACA is designed for everybody to have health insurance so that the uninsured don’t make costs higher for the rest of us.
