With the wealthiest group of congressmen & -woman this nation has ever suffered, perhaps they should all now finance their own campaigns, without contributions from any outside source. It’s worth the Constitutional amendment to implement it!

Would you rather they drew their re-election money from their own pockets or the public fisc? There’s nothing wrong with paying at least part of your own way, although i DO understand that idea has become less than popular in so called Progressive circles along with personal responsibility and the Protestant Work Ethic.

It is amazing how many enter Congress broke, and a couple years later are millionaires, but of course, that’s on both sides of the aisle. It is interesting that those who do NOT make the financial leap of faith in lobbyists, tend to be the honest, and best serving. They of course also, seem to be the ones their constituents don’t leave in for long. That used to be quite different, but the “Reagan revolution” did indeed change things. Yes, they who supported king, or is it “Saint” Ronnie, were the McConnell, Issa, and Boehner types.
