I can recall my niece & her husband expressing much the same sentiments before their first (of two) was born. All the elder family members just laughed.Years later, when their two and all their cousins were running around the house screaming like maniacs (i.e. behaving like normal kids), I asked Lee how he dealt with it. He simply shook his head. He said he had once asked his father: “Dad, why didn’t you tell me it was going to be like this?” Dad’s response: “Because I wanted grandchildren.” Priceless!
