Nothing like the aroma of holiday candle!
Candles do more than rekindle the smells of the season -
They also bring back the old familiar sounds...
don't leave the thing burning unattended!
I used to love candles in my 20’s but over the years and for no particular reason; now I’m paranoid of them. It’s probably due to having 2 cats and a 6 year old boy running around the house knocking everything over. Either way, no more candles for me. :(
When my mom was four years old, Granny caught her “playing with matches” (which Mom said she actually wasn’t doing), and said she was going to throw her into the well. Granny started dragging her toward the well, and Mom hung onto everything she could get her little fingers on. She didn’t get thrown into the well, but Granny, who finally wound up with nine kids, developed colorful ways to drive her safety lessons home.
[furry-faced grin] Wonderful comic Robb!!! Very real!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I completely agree with Joe! It was a major point of contention between my wife and I when we first married. I am glad that she and I are now in agreement… NO LIT CANDLES in the house other than those that are on birthday cakes.

Which holiday is she referring to? Christmas?

The guy’s spot on. The most common cause of all the house fires I was on when I was a firefighter was…unattended candles.

My mother told me to never play with fire and every time I would check it she would admonish me for playing with it.

Candles stink. Scented candles stink worse.
