@Tony- No sir. The son of a Vet and father of another. I loved to see the pride on my Dad’s face as he watched my son progress through Basic and AIT. My son ended up at the base base my Dad was stationed at and Dad really got a kick out of that.@wet and soggy- thank you. The support that family provides is paramount. My wife hugs almost every single Vet she sees. Especially those selling the poppy flowers. I have a great photo of her hugging one of the Pearl Harbor volunteers. It brought a tear to the old gent’s eyes. To all you other Vets- THANK YOU!!!! Some don’t understand but many of us do.

I am not but live in an area surrounded by Navy, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard bases and Home of the Navy Seals. I want and do thank all of the services that defend and protect us and or rights everyday without fail. When I hear those Navy jets flying overhead everyday I only hear freedom not noise. THANKS TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE MILITARY and their families for their sacrifices for us everyday.

For those sayings “thank you” to a Vet, keep it up, it is gratefully appreciated. I have 30 years of service in the Navy and 11 years with DOD, I joined as an 18 year old at the very end of Nam. We were told in boot to expect a hostile pubic and I witnessed that several time in my first 6 years, included getting called a baby killer and spit on once (the night of boot graduation). Since then I have deployed many times and flew in my aircraft off and over many hostile shores and I have seen the country changed and more and more I got “thanks you” in uniform. Then, as well as today, it swells my heart and make me remember the many friends that I had that cannot stand with me to salute our flag. This Veteran day I will celebrate even more because my daughter is now an Airman First Class in the WV ANG. Pride runs deep God Bless America!

No Tony, I’m not a Vet. I do thank and stand behind each and every one of our men and women that serve. I also wish that they were not needed as often as they are.
