…@Linda1259 , @Sisyphos , @Allexikakos : FWIW , I believe that Broom Hilda is one of the few remining modern strips in which the B&W version is the " true " version , in which the artist still draws it with black and white reproduction in mind , and the color version is an afterthought/" later " version . (The last time I looked , Bill Griffith’s Zippy is another one , Mell Lazurus’ Momma is another .) Frankly , tha fact that ~ love ya , Russell ~ Mr. Myers is no spring chiken is probably one reason for this !(The strip’s a Tribune Media Services – the Chicago Tribune’s company – one , not KFS , BTW , though it does appear on King’s mixture .)

Look at it this way: he can dig out a sunken living room/party pit in half the time a contractor would take and less the cost.
