This one hit me with a double-whammy of memories: .First, when I was 5 or 6, my older brother decided to have a Monster Club. He and his friends turned our cellar into a “Monster House”, using Silly String for cobwebs and gallons of fake blood. Unfortunately, he also took my favorite doll (which was over 3’ tall), smeared fake blood all over her, hung her from a noose, and stuck a small gardening hand-rake into her back. I had a month of nightmares from that…and he got a world of trouble from our parents!.The second memory is the year someone from our city got tapped for the TV show “Monster House”. Unfortunately, the family lied on their application, and ended up getting into huge trouble and losing the house, so now our city has this lovely eyesore right off the highway.
