Yea, I’m usually pretty flexible about my comics too. But I got to agree with Toon. Not a joking subject.

And sadly right on the mark. Since those aid workers were murdered trying to help that village prevent the virus.

The joke isn’t about ebola. The point is about the willingness of different people and organizations (and there are a lot of them on certain cable channels and radio shows) who benefit by keeping people scared and stupid about ebola.

Rita’s mind continues to astound me. Her ‘logic’ is scary.…Love the panel’s perspective, especially the shadows on the floor. Great job!

Note: as an ex-medical professional I do of course realize Ebola itself is nothing to joke about especially in the developing countries. This gag was written week’s ago when Ebola fear and rumors were running out of control. Heck we had people in Facebook ready to run to the hills here in the US. This is a response to all the misinformation that was out there and Rita being her typical self and trying to take advantage of whatever she could.

I suggest an app that informs people that if they send you a pre-paid card of $25 then it will send to your email address the cure for any disease known to man. If you don’t get the email…darn internet.

I know one person who saw this and said this sort of thing doesn’t belong in the comics. And I informed him that “this sort of thing” has ALWAYS been in the comics. All the way back to “Hogan’s Alley” and “Katzenjammer Kids,” which made fun of the immigrants coming over from Europe: “Mutt and Jeff” commenting on African American boxer Jack Johnson, “Little Orphan Annie” went after gasoline rationing during World War II after its creator, Harold Gray, was upset that he had been denied a higher rationing for his work, and God knows how many other examples there are. The comics have ALWAYS commented on topics of the day. If they don’t, they become stale and die.
