How does one even remove a social media profile after having passed on?

Try removing it while you’re still alive. That’s almost impossible, too. I know. I’ve done it.

I thought Opal was referring to ‘unfriending’ her, which is very simple to do.

Well, Opal, she’s gone further than you have, especially if she keeps updating her page

If you remover her, Opal, that’s one friend fewer for you.

So family has not removed the deceased name from fb page.

What I want to know for fb when a show gets cancelled and you unlike but still there. How do you get rid of it?

I had my fb account deleted almost 3 years ago. There is an option there to do it. But since it’s been almost 3 years, I don’t remember what it was. I deleted it as a lot of the stuff I was seeing, was getting insane.

That is exactly the way the dead vote in elections. Names are never expunged from the voting lists – if you die or move.

if she ‘pokes’ you now Opal you can prove life after death???

I’ve instructed my sons to delete my FB account immediately upon my death.

I should probably have them do that with my Twitter account too

A. J. Manning: They can’t vote without showing up and if they show up they can’t be dead. Of course, they might be sent an absentee ballot without requesting it, but around here only incumbent Republicans do that.

It breaks my heart when I see my deceased fb friends in lists and stuff. @hippogriff my dear friend’s husband plays games on her profile. I had to remove her because it felt wrong

It’s even weirder when people post messages on the deceased page. As if they are still checking FB…. :-/

my cousin died in a work-related accident in September…his Facebook page is still there and some of his friends still post on it, mostly to comment on how much they miss him. I find it comforting that people remember him well. I know my aunt also appreciates reading the things people say about him. I know some people find keeping the Facebook page open strange, but I hope my aunt never has my cousin’s page deactivated.
