I once banged my shin on the open dishwasher as I was trying to go to a bathroom to wash my jalapeño-squirted eye (I was cutting open a jalapeño to revolve its seeds).
My dad broke us of that before it could become a habit. If you opened it you CLOSE it or else. Trust me his or else was something you did NOT want to deal with. I thank him to this day!
My wife closes doors, but the cupboards (kitchen, linen, etc.) are so stuffed they cannot close completely. I find it annoying. I am easily annoyed, I guess.
My son and his wife never close a cabinet door! I really try to never shut them, it’s their house, but is really hard. My husband of 57 years doesn’t shut them or turn out lights, I just go behind him and do both. He doesn’t care and I don’t mind so it works out.
For us we close all drawers and cabinets. I only use light when needed. I do not like to waste electricity. My hubby leaves lights on after leaving bathroom and other lights. I sympathize with Earl getting hurt.
What is so hard about saying, “Sorry” when you absent mindedly cause someone pain? The spouse that lives here has the same rule: “Never show weakness by apologizing.” He shoulda married Opal.

Just another one of Opal’s poor excuses.

I’ll bet Opal pays the heating and electric bills…

And yet, I bet she insists on making the bed every day.

How hard is it to open and close drawers?

Tread lightly. Leave things as they were. If it was open, leave it open,if it was closed reclose it. My mantra. :) Peace.

Maybe she has a fit because he’s running up the electric bill. If she leaves a drawer open it costs nothing.

Duh—no power is consumed to cool the contents of a drawer or cabinet.

Usually it’s the men who leave drawers open. Drives me nuts!

So weird. In my household and my daughter’s household it’s the man who leaves all the drawers and cupboard doors open.
