Did she not just describe the makings of the Christmas Spirit?

Not sure the “meaning of Christmas” is Biblical. 2 of the 4 Gospels do not even mention the birth of Christ, and the 2 that do disagree on every significant fact (or more charitably, they completely supplement each other.) We are an Easter people. Just enjoy Christmas for what it is, don’t try to load it with any theology.

I know. Someone always trots out that story about Santa being born in a manger and immediately being called upon by three toy manufacturer reps from the East, China no doubt.

Although Santa, AKA Saint Nicholas of Myra, did exemplify the spirit of Christmas. He was widely known for his generosity, especially to the poor.

Face it, dudes! We are celebrating a pagan holiday, which happens to coincide with Jesus’ made-up birthdate. Let’s hear it for old traditions!

Not sure why she threw the Grinch into the mix. He came to realize that Christmas doesn’t come from a store, that it means a little bit more. Isn’t that a worthy Christmas message, for those who celebrate the holiday?

    Happy Hanukkah!

Winter Solstice! (that the Church took over and moved. Same as Easter – celebrate things for around 10,000 years – humph!) …. On the other hand – we have blended the two quite nicely. Almost like a fused split personality. Sarah – there is only debt if you want to have debt. Everything else is fun. Go light a bonfire on the 21st and sing Christmas carols. ;)))))
