Poor baby, he so seldom gets any attention.

Well, at least I think Dill will learn a very special lesson.

Dill will soon learn never to volunteer for anything.

And here Dill wasn’t volunteering. He was just practicing his Horshack imitation.

Love the look of delight/flattery/surprise on Dill’s face in panel 4. Only from a little kid. A crush is born.

Curious to see where this goes! Glad to see that he’s finally getting a little special-attention… even if he had to ask for it! ;)

Interesting to note the subtle changes of expression on the children in Panel 3. Beni rolls his eyes; only Alice shows no change at all. She don’t want to be no “Very Special Helper.”

That’s funny Gokie5. I didn’t even notice her expression since I was focusing on Dill.

Puddlesplatt McLearn – I was in parochial schools through the 4th grade. Eraser cleaning was a punishment for heresy or some similar sin. And those things had to be CLEAN!!.5th grade on, I was in public schools, where it was a reward for currying favor with the teacher..Never could understand the change behavior, and was was always afraid of getting an RC teacher in the public schools..iammu – High school was friends with the janitor, and he taught me to pick locks.

That is only because the word “special” has suffered a shift in meaning and usage.

Easy, Dill; this may not be your “big moment” after all.Or, maybe it is! Go for it, Kid! You have nothing to lose….
