Very popular throughout Southern Ontario, both in the 60s and 70s (when I played in high school and university) and still. Lots of seniors centres have organized Euchre. In some ways it is similar to but much simpler than bridge, so attractive to bridge players when that game becomes too demanding.

it’s a real game and seems to be limited to the Midwest. I grew up in Michigan.
