If Opal said Sylvia’s calling from her mobile, I think Earl would misinterpret that as RV.

Get with the times Earl.

But – But Opal’s using a cell phone?

There’s a phone in her cell?

Sylvia’s trying to break out of her contract.

I confess, that’s the first thing I thought, too, that she was in jail. Old. I’m old.

Earl is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Years ago words had different meanings…

I too have a small room[cell] so to speak. :) Ha,haa. Peace.

Now that we’ve enjoyed the humor, it hinges on chosen preposition:

We call it a ‘mobile phone’ in the UK.
