I always think of Calvin and Hobbes when I read these older Peanuts strips. :-)

Snoopy?

I am still grateful that GoComics decided to run “Peanuts Begins.” I look forward to this strip every day.

A sweet childhood memory. My Grandpa had all the early paperbacks and it was the first place I went, when arriving at their house. And I love the way the pursued leans back and the pursuer leans forward….just those simple things.

Wow. It’s amazing that this strip in no way resembles what Schutz would be doing with Peanuts just 3 years later.

I wouldn’t object if Snoopy came to visit me. Sadly, real beagles aren’t nearly as awesome.

Aw, come on Patty… I thought it was kinda sweet!

Well, he stayed the same age for 50 years—it must have worked!

I’ve been reading this strip since it started back in January and I can’t help but wonder how Charlie Brown was transformed into the loser of those 60’s and 70’s strips, and why Schulz did it. That whole characterization doesn’t seem to fit with the generally sweet kids (all of them, including Violet) that have been depicted here over the last six months.

Snoopy can be an “admirer”. Why is Patty mad? Does she hate dogs?

Why didn’t you keep being like this, Charlie Brown?
