I went through that period. Then I realised that if I didn’t do all the spending, providing food, inviting etc. I had no “friends.” And that if I didn’t chase them down and call them, they never called me. I realised I was just dealing with the wrong people. Those aren’t friends, they’re moochers.
When I was a teenager, if I wanted people to come to a party, I had to make sure my older, good-looking brother could be there. Thankfully, he was a good sport (and what teenage boy doesn’t like having a bunch of girls hanging around?)
