Jason: Hi, I was interested in ordering a Valentine's bouquet for my sister. How expensive would an arrangement featuring an amorphophallus titanum be? You don't? Are you sure? It might be labeled "Titan Arum" or even just "Corpse Flower".No? Could you at least check in the back? It'd smell like rotting flesh. Yes, flesh. Phooey. Ok, fine, what about symplocarpus fetidus? It'd have more of a skunk odor. That's the third florist that's called me a weirdo and hung up. Marcus: Dude, buying Valentine's flowers for you sister is pretty weird.

Trouble with the corpse flower is it only blooms for a few days every 2-10 years.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amorphophallus_titanum

I LOVED The Addams Family. Yes: I was old enough to know it was “Cheese at it’s Best”, but very well done cheese!

Anyone read Rex Morgan MD? This same flower was mentioned there today.

Last Valentine’s Day, Dragcave.net had a game where you could grow flowers from seeds and then send them to other people on the website. One choice was Titan Arum. Of course you couldn’t smell them. And they were kinda pretty.

I had one of these Stapelia plants when I was a kid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stapelia I’d known it had a bud on it, but it opened overnight and the first time I saw it in full bloom, its size and odor startled me. It really did smell like carrion and it had a very lewd and vile appearance with all those hairs. I don’t imagine a florist would sell one of those, but you might find one in a shop that sells cactus-like plants.

They will be plentiful and free of additional cost in just a few weeks…Of course, if you wait too long, you will have plenty of these…

Wouldn’t the flowers from “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” be better?
As for Eileen, if you hadn’t noticed, Jason is afraid of Eileen. Eileen has a crush on him, that he doesn’t want to reciprocate, but they’re so compatible that he’s afraid he might reciprocate. And sending a flower of ANY kind to Eileen would send the message that he’s giving in.
