Spiro Agnew! The prince of vegetables!
Okay, there is a Quayle joke in here somewhere.
I know that you’ll feel better When you send us in your letter And tell us the name of your favorite vegetable. “Vegetables”. The Beach Boys
.
Still doing Spiro Agnew jokes? How old are these cartoons?
Then there’s Mitt Romney, the Harold Stassen of this century.
Straight from WIKI – so it must be true . . .
Bernard “Hap” Kliban (January 1, 1935 – August 12, 1990) was a well-known and popular cartoonist born in Norwalk, Connecticut.
I can’t shake the feeling that the verse came from elsewhere. One of Piet Hein’s “Grooks”, maybe.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who sees Spiro Agnew in this one. It only means I’m old, not TOO old.
