That freight locomotive does not look anything like what wehad here in the USA. An engine like that, with an 0-6-0 wheel arrangement was only used for switching cars in thefreight yards, never on the main lines!
Perhaps it is the lettering in today’s strip that triggered the thought, but perhaps this is what inspired some of the work of Frank King in the golden days of Gasoline Alley
