We visited Yakima Valley a couple of years ago on what was supposed to be a wine tasting tour. It was hot, and we got lost twice driving around these backroads that didn’t even show up on the GPS. My friends in the backseat screamed, “What kind of people live here? There could be zombies on the next farm for all we know!”
i grew up in the washington dessert and had many snowless winters. i’ve spent many christmas days in sunnyside, and snow was rare. in between the cascades and the palouse, any precipitation is rare. and, there are three large grocery stores in sunnyside, as well as dozens of retail stores. tumbleweeds, yeah, they are everwhere.
