My Black history report is not a person its about a place: My neighborhood barbershop. My neighborhood barbershop is historically black. I asked my dad if other races are allowed to get a haircut there. Just then, a white customer walked in. He was relaxed and fit right in with the sports talk and stuff like that. His haircut turned out great. Next time I went there I met a customer from Puerto Rico. MY barbershop is now desecrated. Now, Id like to tell you something about my church...

Unfortunately, according to some people only white people are racist. According to them African-Americans are never racist. Witness the argument about what is happening with the Jackie Robinson West little league team.

I’m good…I’m bald, I don’t have to worry about barbershops anymore. But if I pick a white handle razor over a black one, am I now racist?

" Now it’s black owned with all black clientele. I was informed I was not welcome and to never return. Why isn’t reverse racism ever question?".Note that it MAY have been for other reasons, based on personal observation. (Not that I don’t love you.)

Maybe it’s because our church is close to a military base, but our church is not segregated. I know many that are though, and it’s their loss.

I was expecting him to report that of course a white man was told to leave the barbershop, since only blacks have “nappy” hair. There are special hair products designed for their hair only, because no other race has such hair. Then I thought that he was going to mention the African Methodist Episcopal Church that he attends. Just heard this morning about a former American slave named Richard Allen who greatly contributed to the A. M. E. Church, choosing to honor God over guarding his reputation or pleasing people for temporal benefit.
