“Well, I had a little chickie that just wouldn’t lay an egg
so I poured hot water up and down her leg.
The little chickie hollered and the little chickie begged.
Gosh darned chickie laid a hard-boiled egg.”
You know as well as the rest of us that if Leigh Rubin had shown the egg with the shell removed that you would have been complaining that having the shell removed was illogical, as the chickens didn’t have any hands or fingers to use to remove the shell.

j-a”j”d: um, how would the reader know it’s hard boiled my friend? The comic needs to take a little license to make it’s point.

A hard boiled egg would have made the comic a real mystery.
