I imagine someday a different female crew member seeing this sort of thing and deciding to string him along to change him, but then his gains — which would have begun to impress Pam — all falling apart when the other woman transfers out. Both would realize that such progress rarely holds, of course. You usually can not change people. If they do not grow on their own they tend to just not grow, and at Cliff’s age real change is unlikely. He does provide good laughs because we all know such clueless folks.
