I’d almost feel sorry for Monty, except that there is no need for him to wallow in Valentinecholia. He’s bringing it on himself rather than seeking solace from Gretchen, or the cop-lady (whose name I’ve forgotten; something Irish-sounding, I think?), or some other sweet young thing….
