Water on the brain is not a laughing matter to me. After a serious spine injury hydrocephalus resulted and I needed to place a shunt in my head. It has kept me alive as I’m sure others with the same condition can attest. So I find nothing funny about “water on the brain” So hardy har har…NOT!
In my youth studying medicin I worked parttime in hospitals. In the patients files an often used acronym was f.r.c. Should a patient get hold of his own file the chance was likely very small that he (or she) would guess the meaning: Flatus rotundum cerebri. As you might have guessed those were patient who happened to annoy the staff.
I don’t evan know what that means rundstyk. where you studing to be a nurse or PA or Dr.
A year ago when I had my neck done I anoyed some of the nurses not my fault one part of me had to insist on going to the RR could not use BP they had an IV to me and I had to go a lot. When I did I would wait before going to bed. Then I thought if I can go without feeling light head or dizzy I was able to go home this was after neck surgery Dr. okay for me to.
Why doesn’t the Dr. have Mr. Walt to go in the office instead of on the phone? Gertie needs to get her patient in.
And yes I know this is a comic strip but I don’t see what is funny so far about it. Sorry
Thank you, 436rge, that’s exactly the response I had when I read this comic. I had hydrocephalus for 19 years before they decided to put a shunt in. I usually enjoy this comic every morning, but not today!

I know it’s an old joke, but if he has water on the brain, he needs a tap on the head.

Sounds like a Malamanteau to me! (Look it up!)

pbarnrob, I googled Malamanteau but have found no solid information about it. What is the concise definition and origin?

I think Malamanteau is a wikipedia joke that all started with this webcomic:
http://xkcd.com/739/
In the context of today’s GA, I guess it means a nonesense combination of two words into one new word for comic effect.
