The perfect comparison - 1,000,000 plus at the Capitol on 912 (2009) versus the Obama Inauguration - LIBERALS are much trashier, while Tea Party people clean up after themselves. Pictures don’t lie - editorial cartoonists do.
So many comments above fall into arguing about whether the tea-party protests in fact left messes.
This misses the point: We all count on some level of government service to do ‘clean up’ work of one kind or another…extra police for any kind of protest, extra stops for extra loads for the city sanitation bureau…and, on the grander scale, this cleanup represents the role of government at the federal level, from direct comparisons (e.g. Katrina, 9/11), to the less obvious government expenditures for clean water, air and food supply.
Paying taxes for government service appears to be total anathema to some protesters. Davies is pointing to the hypocrisy.
(With a Morgan Freeman voice) Hypocrisy is having your hard earned cash ripped off your paycheck, while the one ripping make’s $5 million a year telling people what he wants.
