That’s the truth! Pretty soon they’re going to require US Citizens to carry Pass Ports to “prove” they have a legal right to be in Arizona. After all - how can U tell if someone is legal by looking at them… could be European or Canadian.

I saw some Arizona politico on TV today taking credit for the new law. He argued that since the police would still need a reasonable suspicion to approach someone, there would be no real change from current police procedures.

Oh, really? If that were true, then what is the law even for? There must be something unspoken going on here. The news cutie was not able to break into the non-stop blabber of her guest to ask, assuming the question ever occurred to her.

But fear not. The Supreme Court has faced cases like this before and has shot them down as intruding on the federal government’s exclusive constitutional power to control immigration.

(Disclosure: I believe our current immigration laws are racist, paranoid, and violate the rights of both foreigners and citizens. The government has valid cause to keep out Al Capone, Typhoid Mary, and Osama bin Laden, but other than that, I would advocate open borders as a basic human freedom. And since the current law is wrong to begin with, there should be a painless way to legalize the current illegals if not downright amnesty.)

Let’s see. The police used to profile longhairs so they fought back by getting educated and good jobs.

One suggestion I saw elsewhere is to flood Arizona with walletless tourists engaging in “suspicious” behavior and clog their legal system.

Just wait till they start tagging US Citizens like Animals using Sub-dermal Implant Chips. The technology exists - my cat & dog both have ID chips.

Excuse me, but has anyone seen any tea baggers? I mean, don’t they usually protest our loss of liberty and freedom? They should be all over this loss of constitutional protection from unreasonable search and seizure, right? Right? Seriously, the police have to detain people that don’t LOOK like they belong here…

You already have to show your “papers” when you purchase alcohol or tobacco, when you pay for a purchase with a check or credit card, when you are pulled over for a traffic infraction. You liberals just love to whine. What part of ILLEGAL alien do you not understand? Oh, I forgot, you don’t really care about Mexican’s “rights”, you just want to be able to feel good about yourself. Enjoy.
