Poncho: This is getting totally surreal.
Poncho accidentally knocked the mailman unconscious? And then he calmly accepted a letter from another mailman, without smashing anything on that guy’s head? -I can’t figure this arc out.
Surreal indeed!! But what you have here is a fine example of the average Canadian’s, cartoonists included, well developed sense of the ironic and penchant for understatement.. And that in itself is an understatement, stated in a very polite fashion…. Understand this and you understand the surrealism that seems to be permeating the strip of late ….. and good luck with that:)
