More cartoon physics – for a mushroom that developed, the blast (and noise) would have reached them by now.

Reminds me of a cartoon in Playboy from the ‘60s. To guys on the 18th green with the city in the distant background. Guy about to putt gazes at the mushroom cloud over the city. Guy holding the flag say, "Ah, go ahead and putt out. It’ll take the shockwave a few seconds to get here." Graveyard for sure!
