Poor little kerfuffled mantis. As bugs come and go, they are surprisingly friendly with people. When I worked in the lumber yard, we used to find them a lot in the green lumber. We used to call them the “little lords of the wood” and bring them outside at break time and release them in the field nearby.

They can be pretty aggressive, and it’s often woe to the male after mating.

They are fascinating to watch, and they turn their heads to watch you watching them. Many people keep them as pets.
