True story: After a president of a local University left, it was discovered that his wife had been raising chickens in the basement of their University-provided home. It was a disaster area.
A friend of mine had a small service station. He sold gasoline, fixed tires, sold snacks and fishing supplies. Included were his crickets in an open box on legs. A strip of painted area at the top was all he needed to keep them in.

I love the coloring in today’s strip; it reminds me of a long time ago when I was visiting Ohio.

I suspect most people who raise crickets in their basements don’t do it on purpose.

We had those jumpy spiders in our basement when I was a kid. Aren’t they a cricket hybrid? Anyway, they scared me to death.
