Abbie says, "Why are manhole covers round?" Miss Plainwell says, "So they won't fit through the round manholes." Abbie says, "But peanut M&Ms are round, too." Frazz says, "So are nostrils. Abbie had an interesting day this week." Miss Plainwell says, "Now I understand."

But the manhole covers are sized to fit on the inner ring , and not go through! And the holes don’t stretch, like nostrils DO!
