Major gaffe for the gaffer. Once saw a clip from a rehearsal of a production at a college TV station. They created a set populated with overstock Christmas trees from at least one local plant store and created a path on which an actress would walk. Path came in handy when the big bang sounded and a flaming gob of quartz fell out of the ceiling — and landed on the path instead of among the dry pines. Could’ve burned down the whole building if it had dropped among the trees.
