A click-to-enlarge image can be found here. Smaller enlargement can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry (yesterday). Again, it is a cropped image. The Floor Scrapers (link shows painting’s Wikipedia page) is shown, with a different coloration image (2 detail images above it are actually larger), and described (mentions a prior strip painting), by its current-location page. To see its larger image, click here, OR the click-to-humongous image, compliments of its Google Cultural Institute page. Its analysis in this (fullscreen is active) video
also makes comparisons to the prior strip painting. Another different coloration, maybe-click-to-enlarge image can be found here, along with a description. It mentions the (privately owned) second version (click for click-to-enlarge)described here. That is analyzed 0:24 into the (fullscreen is active) shown there, which also analyzes a prior strip painting, by the artist, at the 1:24 mark. The artist’s Wikipedia page (Bing translated French Wikipedia page has more) and collection (more under Subcategories at each level).Eighth work, by this artist, to appear here, 5 of which, so far, have also appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog.
I’ve stripped my floors using modern paint-stripping gels and brushes then sanding them out by hand. That was a LOT of work. I can’t imagine doing it this way! My back and knees start to ache just looking at this!
