The cat looks … strangely familiar. Perhaps bit, you know, crazy. The pup, however, seems to be a total stranger from out of the crowd….

McDonnell named Mooch for Baron Mooch, another of Herriman’s strips.
“Mumbletypeg” is the way I generally hear it. Of course, kids don’t carry knives these days, so most of the people that I know who play it are medieval re-enactors who play it with their misericordes.
Herriman drew many other cats in various Sunday and daily comics before “Krazy” and all had the signature bow around the neck .
