Fretting over animals raised for the purpose of fur coats is ignoring real problems, like the human exploitation that goes on in the farming industry. Worry more about the people farming your crops. The mink are kept healthy until they’re killed cleanly, which is a lot more than you can say for the average farm worker.
I have no problem with hunting for food, or raising animals for slaughter to provide food and other useful items. However, the act of killing just to provide for a fashion statement I find abhorrent . We are to be good stewards of God’s creation, not exploiters.
I’ve got no problems whatsoever with eating meat or wearing leather, because those cows would not exist in the first place if they weren’t food, and leather is a byproduct of that food. I am a carnivore and I make no apologies or excuses for it. I do have a problem with mink coats though, because dozens of animals are raised in cages just to become part of one coat while their meat is thrown away. I couldn’t imagine wearing a coat made in such a wasteful way.

“We don’t hunt for food. If we did we would have one-seventh the amount of people on this planet.”.A useful concept…
