In panel 1 we get the combined reprise and set-up. The dramatic tension in panel 2 reaches near the bursting point. Then, in panel 3, the tide is turned. And the Big Reveal and explication come in panel 4.Big Jim Meddick gives a textbook lesson in economical construction of a comic strip today, and my only complaint is that Monty doesn’t really deserve his victory over Madame Sorcière….
