I actually harvested peanuts from a couple of planters last year thanks to farmer squirrel. A supersoaker dissuades them from my planters now..Racoon problems pretty much solved with tight clamping garbage can lids. But they still try to open them.
I put out peanuts for the squirrels where I previously lived. They were so funny. One would bury a peanut, then return 5 minutes or so later to dig it back up again!
