Katherine Mansfield said it about James Joyce: to get to the flash, you have to trudge through an inordinate amount of pan.

The flashes are refreshing and stimulating. When someone didn’t run out of flashes for such a long time, he will not do it in future, I am sure!!When I was a little child I had an elder brother and for long time he told me every morning, when our parents where still asleep, a little story, he never ran out of stories, too, often they were very thrilling!

@ptlover: Zits and The Lockhorns are on a competitor’s site, so I doubt that GoComics can get them. I assume that The Far Side would be even more difficult.

He’s ether going to be in advertising or become a politician. But first he has to get out of the first grade. Fat chance.

Did any of you people see my post about Calvin having ADD with a touch of Asperger’s? Hobbes, what do you think of this observation that I made? It is going to be interesting to see the comments in regards to the final comics. I think the shades of green song with the words its a magical world is the perfect companion for the strip. Well, the snow at the end of the last one does not really fit with shades of green though, but still, Calvin and Hobbes had a lot of adventures set in green pastures. :) I just checked the song, it was not a magical world, but a wonderful world. Still the song fits. The song is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7ORzTxLvio.

@jpb6891: I wouldn’t conclude that Calvin has a psychological disorder. Calvin is highly gifted in some areas, and sometimes highly gifted children are mistakenly diagnosed as having ADD. Calvin is also six years old. I do know that Hobbes has animal magnetism.

Hobbes, check out the book Teaching With Calvin and Hobbes on Amazon.com. Teaching with Calvin and Hobbes was designed for children with learning disabilities to help them comprehend things. One of the areas that the book focused on was behavior.

I think it can go either way. Since Calvin is six years old, he probably does not have ADD. If he was older and still doing these things, it would be a good indicator of it. Calvin could have ADD or he may not.

I remember when I read some of Calvin and Hobbes in 2011, I thought Calvin was mentally ill due to fantasizing all of the time. Now I do not think this. Calvin can be naughty, but he still has a good nature due to being upset about animals when they died.

Hobbes is my favorite character in the comic. Hobbes is a cute tiger. He is also wise and acts as a mentor to Calvin. I think Hobbes could be a real tiger in the comic while appearing as a stuffed animal to adults.

Hobbes, do you think Hobbes the tiger could be an angel sent by God to help Calvin? I can see Hobbes as an angel sent by God.

“If you can’t give me something new, then repackage the old so it LOOKS new!” Is that why we’re seeing so many HD remakes of last-gen video games these days?

@jpb6891: Hobbes may be helpful to Calvin at times, but because he is a tiger, he also has some very strong instincts. If you think that Hobbes is an angel, then Calvin had better watch out that he doesn’t end up as angel food.
