I confess to my shame that I went to a McDonald’s in France. I was on liberty in Toulon and starving, and just a few francs in hand. Besides, who could resist “pommes de terre frite”?
That was when I first got there. On my last day I knew enough to get a pressed sandwich from a vendor.
In Scotland, no McDonalds– the fast food at the train station in Greenock was a Casey Jones franchise: still burgers and fries.

That paper garrison cap is much more flattering than the snood.

Why would a fast food joint need a waitress anyways?

McDonald’s in other countries frequently accomodate local and regional tastes much more than the US ones do.
